Well what a weekend, it started Thursday night Friday morning? Dom and I set off to Rheinburg, Germany, Just outside Dusseldorf. Dom driving the first leg down to the Euro tunnel and I the next leg on to Germany, After what seemed like for ever we arrived in Kamp-LintFort. A little sleepy town just outside Rhienberg.

When we arrived, we got the dogs out first and went for a big walk. We found our Hotel, nice place! fed the dogs and got ourselves cleaned up. Then out for a few beers and some thing to eat? So we thought. Not easy when we can't speak any German and they don't speak any English. But as always we muddled through( Note. If you ever go to this town and need something to eat, make sure you do before 10.30pm, cos everything closes down and I mean everything) Well not the pubs!!. To bed on a empty stomach.

Saturday morning up for breakfast, well a German breakfast.. boiled egg, cold meat, cheese and bread! But it was the best!! (After all going to bed on at empty stomach).
Take the dogs out, give them a good run feed and water. On to the show which was only 5 miles away.

This is big show I said to our kid!!! We both just looked at each other and said come on lets do it. Once again we felt a little like alien with the language barrier, (Note must try and learn some German for next time? Take a phase book or something.)
We found our way around, with a little help from Marion from redbeautydb.nl. I must say that everyone was great, couldn't always understand each other but that's half the fun!! On with show, Males first, so we watched has our Kid didn't bring his male Chief, this time. A lot of black mask and I think that they have a little way to go, but over all the standard wasn't bad.
I'll say one thing though they were all the same type... My turn in the ring with Swedish judge Annmaire Thommson. A mastiff specialist which make a change from English shows, where some of the judging? Well do I need to say any more??
Back to the show, Flame my 17 month old bitch bred by Lee of Locerice Kennels was up first. She just loves the ring and moves like a dream and is now starting to stand like a rock.
She was given first place and wins her class. Next up our Kids class, both his bitches are in the same class, so I help out and take Toulouse and our Dom takes Keesha, GOOD STANDARD OF DOGS!! Black mask gets first?? Keesha 2nd and Toulouse 3rd followed by more Black Mask. You could tell she liked the Black Mask's.
So our Dom's day didn't go to plan but we made some great friends.

Next up was Junior BOB didn't know what was going on??? The language thing again, someone pointed me in the direction of the 1st place board......Hey ho we done it, BOB my little Flame. Next up was the ring of Honor, We seemed to wait for ever, but the big moment came. I couldn't believe how many BOB was in the ring. They just kept coming and coming. It looked like they could be around 90 to 100 dogs in the ring.
Big spot lights were following you around, my heart was pumping, well faster than usual, just trying to make sure the judge could see us....!!!He was walking around and around, by this time Flame was getting restless just keep it together.!!
He started pulling out some dogs, he walked past me, I thought that was it? But the next thing he pointed to me and Flame.
We were in last eight out of all those dogs!!! Still had to pinch my self, anyway he had us run around the ring with the spot light on us.
I didn't need that I was sweating cobs, and then he went over the dogs again.
Flame by this time had had enough, she was moving around bless her she had travel 800 miles who could blame her.
He started making is decision that's where the dream ended. We was in the top eight dogs in Germany. That was a great thing. What a weekend. She is now a JUNIOR GERMAN CHAMPION. We just have to drive 800 miles home now......................... Thanks Dom top Bro
